CELEBRATING

MISSION SUNDAY

A Parish Guide

The Mission Sunday Pack

Distracted by the pressing needs of parish community, school and locality or by the monotony and regularity of duty, it is easy to lose sight of the great mission to which we are all called.

‘Just as a fire exists by burning so the Church exists by mission.’ Mission isn’t something that the Church does — it is what the Church is.

Every year the celebration of Mission Sunday reminds us of this. The Church — each and every one of the baptised — is faithful to this vocation only when sharing the saving faith entrusted to her and offering the full riches of Christ to all.

Today we are invited to celebrate this vocation, to break down barriers, to perfect and expand our Catholic unity, to pray for all actively engaged in mission, and to generously contribute to our worldwide mission solidarity fund — the APF.

Happy celebration!
