Davis lives
in Zambia with his family. His dad dies. His mother is very poor.
The family goes to live with his uncle.

His uncle and
aunt have six children. There is not enough food for both families.
Davis is hungry and very sad so he runs away to find food.
|

He
lives on the street. Every day Davis goes to the market with other
street boys. He carries the shoppers’ bags to make money.
|
|
One
day, Lazarus, a youth worker, finds the boys. He takes them to the
Catholic mission. The boys are given food and a safe place to sleep. |

More
boys come. Lazarus writes to Mission Together. A new
community school opens. Street children are fed. They learn lessons
and life skills. |

Davis
now works. He helps his mother look after his family. He helps
street children. He shares food with them and asks them to go to
school. |
