Welcome

Meet Shanti.

Her name means peace.

She lives in India.

You read her story on the front page.

  Welcome to my home
I welcome special visitors to my home with a garland, or with a white scarf which has a red border.

I put it round their neck and say, "Jai Yesu!" which means "Praise Jesus!"

Then I wash their hands.

Do you like the border pattern on my scarf?

Make your own. Use a red marker. Design a mirror (symmetrical) pattern inside a square.

Repeat to make a long border.

How to make a welcome garland

Take a used plastic bag.
Cut it into 5 cm squares.
Fanfold the squares 4 times.

Take a piece of string about 1 metre long.
When the squares are folded thread them one at a time through the middle on to the string.
Tie the ends of the string.

Now you can welcome visitors with a garland.

Welcome to my church

Peace

How do you share peace

Let's welcome Jesus together
