Therese was born deaf. She cannot hear and she
cannot speak. Her family hid her. She never left the house. |
One day her aunt comes to visit. She finds Therese
and takes her to Teresa Chemba who runs a school for deaf girls. |

| Now Therese learns sign
language and many skills which will help her to find work when she
leaves school. |
Therese tries to make
friends by teasing other children. They don't like it. Therese is
lonely. Then she says a special prayer. |

| One day Therese sees Juma,
a blind girl, stumble. Therese takes Juma by the hand and leads her
to safety. |
Now tTherese and Juma are
best friends. They live the MISSION TOGETHER motto, Children helping
Children. |
