SRI LANKA


 

 IMMEDIATE RELIEF WORK - all Sri Lanka

This relief work included costs for restoring buildings, transport, construction
of temporary shelters; and providing children with comfort toys, food,
and medical support.

 MEDIUM-TERM PROJECTS

Construction of a catechetical centre (Trincomalle, Sri Lanka) £ 50,000
3-year training programme for youth (Babah Jurong, Indonesia) £ 20,000
Construction and furnishing of a children’s home (Royapuram, India) £ 10,000
Construction and furnishing of a boys’ home (Pacode, India) £ 10,000
Construction of a home for children who are victims of the war & Tsunami (Adampan, Sri Lanka) £ 5,000
Construction of a home for children who are victims of the war & Tsunami (thullu Kudi Iruppu, Sri Lanka) £ 4,000

This relief work included costs for staff, catechists, teachers, building
construction and furnishing; and providing children with food, accommodation,
education, tools, medical support and counselling. These projects are
being supported in conjunction with our partner in Germany.

 LONG-TERM PROJECTS

 

The ongoing needs of reconstruction and rebuilding are being evaluated at
present. As with all Mission Together projects, this long-term work will
take into account the physical, pastoral and spiritual needs of children and
their families.
